Singapore - It's the third weekend on top for homegrown movie AH BOYS TO MEN 3: FROGMEN 新宾正传:蛙人传 which is still playing on an estimated 53 screens. It has already outperformed the original film to become the second highest grossing local film of all time. Its total tally after 21 days of release is S$6.23m. AH BOYS TO MEN 2 新宾正传 2 grossed S$7.8m back in 2013 and is the highest grossing local film of all time.
CHAPPIE (NC16) makes its debut on 50 screens (including IMAX), while THE SPONGEBOB MOVIE: SPONGE OUT OF WATER (PG) debuts in third place on 28 screens (including three offering the 3D version).
In their fourth weekends, KINGSMAN: THE SECRET SERVICE (26 screens) dips down to no. 4 while FIFTY SHADES OF GREY (16 screens) sneaks back into the top five at no. 5.
UNFINISHED BUSINESS (M18) in the third and final top ten debut at no. 6 (25 screens).
The other new releases are local thriller LANG TONG 靚湯 (R21 Edited / 7 screens); Hong Kong Lunar New Year comedies LUCKY STAR 2015 吉星高照 (PG / 6 screens) and AN INSPECTOR CALLS 浮華宴 (PG / 3 screens); and American drama SONG ONE (NC16 Edited / 1 screen).
LANG TONG and SONG ONE are the eighth and ninth edited releases of the year but SONG ONE is the fourth in which an edited version was released to secure a lower rating.
